Easter Sunday

I have a hard time thing about the story behind Easter. By Easter Sunday everything has past. By that, the trial, the humiliation, the nailing and the pain of burying. By Easter it is all over.
A Jew was prosecuted
So how did we get to the Easter Bunny
From WIKI:
"The practice of decorating eggshell is ancient, pre-dating Christian traditions. Ostrich eggs with engraved decoration that are 60,000 years old have been found in Africa. Decorated ostrich eggs, and representations of ostrich eggs in gold and silver, were commonly placed in graves of the ancient Sumerians and Egyptians as early as 5,000 years ago.
The custom of the Easter egg, however, originated in the early Christians of Mesopotamia, who stained eggs red in memory of the blood of Christ, shed at his crucifixion. The Christian Church officially adopted the custom, regarding the eggs as a symbol of the resurrection; in A.D. 1610, Pope Paul V proclaimed the following prayer:
Although the tradition is to use dyed or painted chicken eggs, a modern custom is to substitute chocolate eggs, or plastic eggs filled with confectionery such as jelly beans. These eggs can be hidden for children to find on Easter morning, which may be left by the Easter Bunny. They may also be put in a basket filled with real or artificial straw to resemble a bird's nest."
***
There is a history and I glanced over it. At an early age I went on Easter egg hunts. My parents would buy me a complete set of new clothes, socks underwear, white shirt, new tie, new belt, new shoes, new suit and a new haircut. They would do the same for my sister plus a new Easter bonnet. We would be shiny and cleaned and we would go to Sunday Mass. After church we would go on the Easter Egg Hunt, Some eggs would be filled with confetti.
I was always at fault for humanities failures.
Times change.
I pray that folks in the old countries do not act like gods that sacrifice bodies to god. God listens, man does not.

On NARFE Western Kentucky

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees members in Western Kentucky are old and tired. We as a group have worked hard for the Federal Government and have aged nicely. We now belong to NARFE and continue to fight for our benefits (retirement and healthcare).
The government as a whole finds us to be a burden (we worked hard and earned our benefits) and is finding ways to put us to sleep and quiet our fight. Taxes pay for our benefits. "NO NEW TAXES" are shouted from the rooftops so Congress as I said, "wants us to go away."
NARFE as a group is trying to tell the young lions to join us but they have other concerns and are not worried about their health or retirement funds.
As a group we at NARFE are getting so old that it is an effort to just get up in the morning. Asking us to join the fight and go to a meeting is almost impossible.
So we shout on the rooftops and soapboxes and yell at our nephews to please, "HELP US!"

a certain amount of bias

There is a certain amount of bias that I am categorized as being part of.
I am free to be as long as I do not belong to that niche, that higher sense of being.
Why do I feel flawed? I do seem to be placed in that category.
Why am I pigeon holed into that slot that does not belong here or there?
I am not white nor am I black. I can write or I cannot write. I am good looking or I am not.
I am friendly or I am not. I am too sensitive or I am not.
I am very cold or I am not. Am I to extreme?
I thought that learning to live as a being allowed me to live on this planet.
Who painted the picture that framed our guidelines?
Is it I who have moved my thoughts to the extreme or
am I just blasé, a neutered guard standing in the background.
I do not know but I do not think that I will change?
I can never stand on that line perfectly still; I will swirl to one side or the other.
Pastels and hard tack, paint it simple and stick it into the mind.
Your mind will always be bombarded if you move into this space.
You will be put into your place on this planet.
You will arrive above your feet looking out at your view.

The Subject of Religion Came Up

The Subject of Religion Came Up as it was mentioned in our Constitution. Christianity is not the religion of our Constitution here is the United States.
Our founding father knew that the early settlers in the 13 colonies were persecuted because of their beliefs in religion and were sent here so as not to bother the Kings of Europe. So our founding fathers wrote in our Constitution that religion was not to be incorporated in our way of governing. They also said we could believe as we pleased about Religion.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

I have evolved.

The sun and its light will warm the deepest part of the earth.
There is a place in the kitchen for "this mind".
"This mind" is yours if you want it that way.
Whatever you decide is all right with the wording of this document.
There is a place at this desk for your mind. No matter what we do. We are capable of seeing the person that we are.
We are capable of being enlightened by just being on the job or on the floor. Walking or driving, sitting or standing, picking the fruit or writing the review, it does not matter. As long as the sun shines in our environment it will enlighten our being.

Those rays of light are there to enlighten us in our darkest hour.
Is it that simple?
Yes all of those religious documents speak in the most simple of terms and they are to the point.
So if we are here at the computer or at the seashore it matters. Lights sparkles our daylight and warms our days. When we sleep at night we have a hope that the next day will be brighter than today. Our dream is always of being enlightened by the good news that is deposited in our paths tomorrow. That is faith.

We can chant or move our senses closer to death or to the point of nothing. There is a moment where death is on one side of nothing and light is on the other side. Most folks will choose the light. Your senses will see the light, discover the moment, and be. Words that were far away will be very close. And the phrase "and the word was god" will be understood; the moment that Buddha was there you will understand. The moment that Jesus said, "Father forgive them; for they know not what the do" you will understand. You will understand the simplicity of Gandhi and why he weaved the cloth or started Tolstoy Farm.

So wherever you are at, you are there, deposited in the space provided by your life, believing in whatever suits your fancy.
Logic will move your mind to different spheres or realms of thought but you will always be in the light whether you are alive or buried in the deepest part of the earth.
The sun and its light will warm the deepest part of the earth.
